At the end of last year, I decided to pause modifications on this website for a while—but the future is unpredictable.
One fine day last week, I found myself modifying my feed section (now renamed to Room). I simply wanted to make it cleaner and more minimal. So, I updated it as I wished—for now.
But those small changes spiraled into several days of intense activity. I went a little crazy, updating things vigorously. On the fly, I decided to restructure the site more like a digital garden. I created multiple spaces—like Coder and Writer—and interconnected them all within the Garden space.
I also made various design tweaks: adjusting heading sizes, changing colors, updating the home sections, and even redesigning the 404 page. I think I need to slow down now—which is why I’m writing this.
Here are some of the main changes:
- Added the Writer space to collect all non-tech essays and notes in one place.
- Redesigned the home page to include Garden, Coder space , Writer space, and Malayali Space.
- Modified the menu to add these spaces, and removed sublinks like Essays, Notes, Desk, and Drawer.
- Enabled navigation between pages using the left (←) and right (→) arrow keys.
- Created the Coder space space for tech essays and notes.
- Removed post images from the preview cards in the Desk section.
- Renamed the Feed section to Garden.
- Changed the Feed style from a card design to a minimal listing layout.
- Added a Shelf section for general notes outside of tech. Drawer will now be used for poetry, musings, and social media posts only.
- Added a secondary footer to include additional links.
- Added a shadow effect to blog post images.
- Made several minor tweaks to heading and design styles.
- Updated links and text in the 404 page.
Also you can see the full changes here.
Okay, I think I can slow down for a while now—and start planting more seeds in this garden.
